Our School

 

Mid Yell JHS is a non-denominational school providing education for children from Nursery to Secondary four.

The school roll is presently 81 pupils and there are a further 25 children in the Nursery class. Our primary department is divided into 3 classes: top primary, mid primary and infants. The secondary department has pupils from S1 to S4.

  • S1/S2 classes study the Scottish 5-14 curriculum.
  • S3-S5 study a combination of Standard Grade level and Higher grade courses.

Activities Day

Our work is on show at the Old Haa in Yell from May- June 2010.

Yell v Unst football and netball matches took place on Wednesday 19 May 2010.

On the afternoon of Friday 11 June 2010 our primary department, Merrie Dancers, S1 Elective group went to the Care Centre to entertain with residents with musical performances.

Our Activity days this year were held on Wednesday 30th June and Thursday July 1st. This is a great way to celebrate the end of term and academic year.

School Dance

Golden Day

Site Visit

S4 organised our school dance held on the 18 December 2009. All pupils in Yell schools were invited. This year's theme was James Bondand we had to dress appropriately to match the theme.

The whole school and many community members took part in this years show: A Christmas Carol.

 

On 14 January 2010 our Primary Department had a Golden Day in celebration of their all their hard work and successes last term.

Today 15th March our primary classes went to check on the progress of our new school building. They consulted the plans and found their new classrooms!
